- Flexible, supple, unfaded! Zero holes, stains, cracking, seam separation, frays, etc.!
- One or more or these
Rubberized Bags
was used to carry
K-RATIONS
or other small necessities in the
Soldier's (or MARINE's)
Haversack
or
Musette Bag.
In addition to beach landings, river crossings, in
many

perations in the
Southwest Pacific Theater (from New Guinea to the Philippines) there was daily rain to contend with. These
Waterproof
Bags
came in various sizes, some marked for "Clothing" or for a "Sleeping Bag."
- This one is fresh from a string-tied bundle from a
Philadelphia Q.M. Depot
crate.
- Fabric is finely woven
OD #7 COTTON
, Rubberized on the inside. Seams are
GLUED
.
- Size: 8" (diameter) x 10 1/2" (length).
- Opening is secured by a 20" White Cotton Tape
"TIE"
with varnish-dipped ends

NOTE:
Even though some of these
"Jungle Waterproof Food Bags"
are found marked "U.S.M.C.", there is no doubt that these also made it into the
USMC Supply System
in the Pacific campaigns of 1943 as Army-contract 'materiel' (e.g.
rations, web gear, clothing, entrenching tools, and medical supplies)
was co-mingled with
USMC-Specific
supplies,
logistical challenges being what they were.
