    Description

    Removed from a Slingerland Junior Model brass shell snare drum. The strainer has two mounting holes and the lower section leans on the shell just under the brass center bead. That's how it appears in the earlier Slingerland drum catalogs. I'm thinking this strainer was made/altered at the factory specifically for the Jr. Model metal snares and is not the standard Shur Grip strainer with 4 mounting holes. The strainer works great and is somewhat rare. This is the strainer used on the Junior Models snares by Slingerland. You can see the pics at drumarchive.com under Slingerland and the 1936 catalog.
