    Description

    Here is an unusual early Van Briggle Pottery vase with swirling leaves around the bulbous bottom in a two toned tobacco brown glaze.  It is number 730 in the shape book, designed in 1907-8, design, leaves.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or firing flaws.  It measures 5 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches in diameter at the widest.   Marked with the firms double AA box mark and the date, 1917.  A beautiful and different glaze on a dated piece from the famous Colorado Springs art pottery.  If you have any questions please click on our username or visit our store page and feel free to email through the gallery or call Jim Messineo at JMW Gallery.
