    Description

Anna Van Briggle Black Deer Vase, with a White Frothing around the top, with THE 1954 to 1956 signature used of: Anna Van Briggle, Colo Sprgs, etc
Measures" 9 inches tall, 4 inches wide, 3" by, w/a 2.75 opening at the top on a 4"
    by 3" base.
Been in our collection for 30+ years!++
Ann Van Briggle died in 1929. The "Anna" line was produced from 1954 until 1968, so obviously Ann Van Briggle did not sign those pieces. The designation of "Anna" for this line happened more as an afterthought than anything.
In 1954, Jesse Lewis - then the owner of Van Briggle - supposedly purchased a local pottery in Kansas, however I don't care about that as this isn't a high high end "VB" we are keeping those 5! Beautiful, well made, no chips, cracks, damage, repairs, etc..
However some old very ill guy in Kansas, or Iowa, Kentucky w/too much time on his hands, was continuing to
    harass
me w/his knowledge about this particular vase, as he read a book a long time ago (supposedly!?) He mentions that John Lewis bought clay, pottery, molds, drugs from VB while they were struggling, although this may be
    speculation
    as this old guy was
    definitely struggling with something!
Beautiful, perfect late in history VB.
