This  listing is for a Birds of Paradise Vase done in Van Briggle's celebrated Ming Blue Satin Glaze.
This
piece measures approximately 9 inches in height and 4.5 inches across.
The vase is marked with the Van Briggle logo but it dose not have a
date. Research has shown that they made this particular form from
the1920's to the 1940's.

The curved
form is in true Art Deco/ Art Nouveau style, with the soft curving body
of the piece bending toward the sky, it truly captures the
visual ascetic of a bird in flight.

his
item is done in Van Briggle's celebrated matte satin glaze which was
inspired by the founder's tour through Asia during the late 1800's. His
works were created in an array of shapes and colors which spoke to the
Arts and Crafts style so prevalent during the first years of
manufacturing and acted as a guiding principle throughout the company's
existence.
The
company was founded by Artus Van Briggle in the Spring of 1901 in
Colorado Springs. Van Briggle, who was an artist for the Rookwood
company until the late 1800's, moved there for health reasons. His
passion for art, and drive to create something distinctly American, is
what drove this company's success. It was the longest continuously
operated art company in American history, having closed their doors in
Spring of 2012.
To own this piece is to own a piece of American history and innovation.
