    Description

THREE! 1943 Japanese 1 Yen, w/Serial Numbers, aka Chou Takenouchi one yen.
The first issue of 'Chou Takenouchi one yen' bill. This currency was first released December 15, 1943, in the Showa era. The Showa era was the reign of Emperor Showa, aka Hirohito, 1926-1989. The first issue had serial numbers, the second issue, November 20, 1944 deleted the serial numbers to reduce the cost of printing.
The low serial numbers, from block 3 are, 055059,05060,055062.
Obverse; Features Takenouchi no Sakune, a legendary hero/statesman from the 1st century. Printing is black on light blue under-print.
Reverse; Features Ube Shrine in the center.
This series was stopped being issued October 1, 1958. It is still legal tender today.
I am not a professional currency grader, but these three bills are very crisp, no folds, no creases, no stains and no other visible issues. Please inspect closely the photos.
The bills in the photos are the actual bills you will receive.
