    Description

GREAT FOR HOMEBREW AND EXPERIMENTING WITH CW OSCILLATOR/TRANSMITTER CIRCUITS FOR THE 80M HAM BAND. LOT OF 6 PIECES, GUARANTEED NOS, NEVER USED.
THE JAPANESE MANUFACTURER LABELED THESE AS 3.52 MHZ, BUT THAT DEPENDS VERY MUCH ON THE CIRCUIT AND ASSOCIATED CAPACITANCE.
I TRIED ONE IS A 2N3904 COLPITTS OSCILLATOR CIRCUIT AND FOUND THAT IT GAVE A VERY NICE CW TONE. HOWEVER, I COULD VARY THE FREQUENCY BETWEEN 3420 AND 3545 KHZ, DEPENDING ON THE SERIES CAPACITOR THAT I USED. WITH A VARIABLE CAP OR TRIMMER IN SERIES WITH THE RESONATOR THESE THINGS WILL TUNE ALMOST LIKE AN OLD ANALOG VFO!
I WAS USING A 16 VOLT DC POWER SUPPLY FOR THE 2N3904 OSCILLATOR. I DOUBT THEY HAVE ENOUGH POWER CAPABILITY FOR A VACUUM TUBE CIRCUIT. IN MY LITTLE AC-1 6V6 TRANSMITTER I GOT A LOT OF INSTABILITY AND DISTORTED TONE. SO I THINK YOU HAVE TO STICK WITH TRANSISTOR CIRCUITRY.
ANYWAY, THESE CAN BE A LOT OF FUN FOR THE EXPERIMENTER. THINK I'LL TRY ONE IN A PIXIE TRANSCEIVER :)
